General Terms and Conditions (with legal information)

§ 1 Scope of Application and Service Provider

These general terms and conditions shall apply to any orders placed by “consumers”, as defined in Section 13 of the German Civil Code (BGB), on the online store of

(hereinafter referred to as “Ritzenhoff”).

Consumers are natural persons who enter into a legal transaction for purposes that are mainly unrelated to their trade, business or profession.

§ 2 Conclusion of Contract

§ 2.1 Our products are sold exclusively for private use.

§ 2.2 The presentation of the products in the online store is not a legally binding offer; it is a non-binding online catalogue. By clicking on the “Buy now!” button, you shall place a binding order for the goods contained in your shopping basket. Once your order has been submitted and approved, you shall receive an automated email to confirm receipt of your order. The purchase contract shall be concluded when you receive the confirmation email.

§ 3 Prices

The prices indicated on the product pages include the statutory rate of value added tax and other price components, but they do not include the shipping costs.

§ 4 Shipping Costs

§ 4.1 We charge a flat rate of EUR 3.95 per order for delivery within Germany. We offer free delivery within Germany for orders worth EUR 20.00 or more.

§ 4.2 There are no further taxes or costs within Germany.

§ 5 Terms of Delivery and Reservation of Prior Delivery from Suppliers

§ 5.1 Our deliveries are made by DHL.

§ 5.2 Unless otherwise stated in our offer, the delivery time shall be 3-5 days.

§ 5.3 If the delivery of the goods fails on three occasions through your fault, we may withdraw from the contract. We shall immediately reimburse you for any payments made.

§ 5.4 If an ordered product is unavailable because it has not been delivered by our suppliers through no fault of our own, we may withdraw from the contract. In such cases, we shall immediately inform you and may suggest a similar product for delivery. If no similar product is available or you do not wish to receive a similar product, we shall immediately reimburse you for any consideration that you have already paid.

§ 6 Terms of Payment & Purchase on Account (Klarna)

§ 6.1 Payment can be made on account (only for customers in Germany), by credit card or via PayPal, SofortÜberweisung or Giropay.

§ 6.2 Your credit card account shall be charged when you submit an order.

§ 6.3 Purchase on account and financing: We offer purchase on account and purchase in instalments as payment options in cooperation with Klarna. Please note that purchase on account and purchase in instalments are only available to consumers and that the payment must be made to Klarna in each case. Furthermore, Ritzenhoff is not responsible for processing payments via Klarna; your contractual relationship with Ritzenhoff will not be affected by such transactions.

Purchase on account (Klarna): When purchasing on account with Klarna, you will always receive the goods first and will always have a payment deadline of 14 days. The full terms and conditions for purchase on account can be found here. The online store does not charge a fee for purchases on account via Klarna.

Purchase in instalments (Klarna): The financing service provided by Klarna lets you flexibly pay for your purchase in monthly instalments of at least 1/24 of the total amount (but at least EUR 6.95). § 7 Reservation of Proprietary Rights

We shall retain ownership of the goods until payment has been made in full. Prior to the transfer of ownership, the goods must not be pledged, assigned as security, processed or remodelled without our consent.

§ 8 Dispute Resolution

An online dispute resolution platform is provided by the European Commission here: http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/.

We shall not participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

§ 9 Cancellation Policy

You have the right to cancel this contract within fourteen days without stating your reasons for doing so. The 14-day cancellation period shall begin on the day the goods are handed over to you or a third party named by you, excluding the carrier.

If you wish to exercise your right to cancel the contract, you must inform us of your decision by submitting an unequivocal statement (e.g. by post, fax or email) to:

You may use the attached cancellation form template, but this is not mandatory. In order to meet the deadline, you must merely submit the statement outlining your intention to exercise your right of cancellation before the end of the cancellation period.

Ramifications of cancellation

If you cancel this contract, we must immediately reimburse all payments received from you, including shipping costs (except for any additional costs incurred if you choose a different shipping method than our cheapest standard shipping) – at the latest within fourteen days of receiving notification of your intention to cancel the contract. We shall make the refund with the same payment method that you used for the original transaction, unless alternative arrangements are explicitly agreed with you; under no circumstances will you be charged any fees for the refund. We may refuse to make a refund until we have received the returned goods or until you have provided evidence to prove you have returned the goods, whichever comes first.

You must return or hand over the goods immediately – and at the latest within fourteen days of notifying us of your cancellation of the contract – to:

The deadline shall be met if you send off the goods before the end of the 14-day period.

Returns policy for customers in Germany

For our customers who place an order in Germany, we shall bear the costs incurred to return the goods if they use the return label provided by us. If the return label is not used, any costs directly related to the return of the goods must be borne by customers themselves.

Returns policy for customers outside of Germany

If an order is placed outside of Germany, any costs directly related to the return of the goods must be borne by customers themselves. They must only pay for any depreciation of the goods if the loss of value is caused by the use of the goods in a manner that is not necessary to check their quality, properties and functionality.

§ 10 Transport Damage

§ 10.1 If goods are delivered with obvious transport damage, please report such defects immediately to the delivery agent and contact us as soon as possible.

§ 10.2 If you fail to report a defect or contact us, this shall not affect your statutory warranty rights. However, you can help us assert our own claims against the carrier or transport insurance company.

§ 11 Voucher Conditions

§ 11.1 Vouchers shall remain valid until the specified date and may only be redeemed once during an ordering process.

§ 11.2 Voucher credit cannot be transferred to third parties.

§ 11.3 The value of the goods must be at least equal to the amount of the voucher. For administrative reasons, leftover credit cannot be refunded.

§ 11.4 Voucher credit shall not accrue interest, nor can it be paid out in cash.

§ 11.5 Several vouchers cannot be combined with one another.

§ 11.6 If you do not have enough voucher credit for the order, you may cover the difference with the payment methods offered.

§ 11.7 A promotional voucher shall not be refunded if goods are wholly or partially returned, as no consideration is paid for such vouchers.

§ 12 Warranty

The items offered in our store are subject to statutory warranty rights.

§ 13 Final Provisions

If a provision in these general terms and conditions proves to be ineffective, this shall have no bearing on the effectiveness of the contract as a whole. The ineffective provision shall be replaced by the relevant statutory provisions.

How does the shopping basket work?

You can reserve products without obligation by clicking the “Add to shopping basket” button. You can view your shopping basket at any time by clicking the “Shopping basket” button and remove unwanted items from your shopping basket by clicking “Delete”. If you want to purchase the items in your shopping basket, click the “Checkout” button.

Do I have to register?

After selecting the products, you will be asked to enter your details. The required information is marked with an asterisk (*). You can also choose to create a customer account, so that you only have to enter your username and password for future orders without having to provide your address each time.

When will my order become binding?

You can check your details on the order summary page and then complete your order by clicking “Buy now”. You can cancel the process at any time by closing your browser window. More information (e.g. on corrections) can be found on each page.

Will the contract text be saved?

We will save the contract text. You will receive the order details and our general terms and conditions by email. If you create a customer account, you will be able to see your past orders in our customer log-in area. You can read, save and print our general terms and conditions here.
